On the surface, Steven has everything. A beautiful wife, a successful business, a brand new home. His younger brother Barry is an alcoholic painter with mental health issues. Steven is trying to rescue Barry’s unravelling life but, beneath the veneer of a successful business and his brand new home, he is haunted by an unmentionable secret that he shares with his brother. Since their father’s suspected suicide, the boys’ mother brushes home truths under the carpet, and pain, grief and loss are persistent companions. Leaves Of Glass is a deeply human drama that explores the hold that the past has upon the family, and is a chilling exploration of the power of loss and grief. Leaves of Glass, April 29 - May 30, Wednesday 29 April - Saturday 30 May at Red Stitch Actors Theatre, rear 2 Chapel St, St Kilda East (opp Astor). Bookings on 9533 8083 or www.redstitch.net |
